Inner Space has offered online therapy since before it became the norm. Today, more than half our sessions take place online, and for many of our clients, it is their preferred way to work.
Whether you are based in Tunbridge Wells, elsewhere in Kent, or anywhere across the UK, you can access the same experienced therapists and the same quality of care.
How online therapy works
Sessions take place via Zoom, our secure video platform. You will need a private space, a reliable internet connection, and a device with a camera. That is all.
Your therapist will send you a link before each session. You join at the agreed time, and the session runs in exactly the same way as an in-person appointment: the same duration, the same approach, the same quality of relationship.
Is online therapy as effective as in-person?
Research consistently shows that online therapy is as effective as face-to-face therapy for most people and most presenting issues. BACP’s own research found that the therapeutic relationship (the single biggest factor in successful outcomes) translates well to the online setting. It is not a compromise. For many clients, working from a familiar and comfortable environment actually makes it easier to open up.
What matters most is the relationship between you and your therapist. That does not depend on being in the same room.
Who online therapy suits
Online therapy works well for people who:
- Live outside Tunbridge Wells or prefer not to travel
- Have a busy schedule and find it easier to fit sessions around work or family
- Feel more comfortable talking from home
- Have mobility or health considerations that make travel difficult
- Are looking for a specific therapist or approach not available locally
What we offer online
Our online therapists work with:
- Adults (individuals): anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, bereavement, relationships, and more
- Relationships: couples, and other relationship combinations including family members working through difficulties together
- Teenagers (age 12 and above): support with anxiety, identity, school pressure, relationships, and the challenges of growing up
- Young adults: navigating the pressures of early adult life
- Families: working through conflict, communication, and change together
All our therapists are highly qualified and members of professional bodies including UKCP, BACP, and NCPS. They draw on approaches including Transactional Analysis (TA), psychodynamic therapy, Drama Therapy, and integrative methods, tailored to you rather than applied rigidly.
